Final race in the Summit series...Bringing home the silverware

Lotts wood was the wettest its been all Summer, making for a few sketchy moments - including a pedal in the knee cap (user error).

Dickie "The mountain goat" pulled me round most of the first lap, only to suffer the first of several mechanicals (Sssi, insert single speed joke here) which slowed his progress.

I took up his mantle and locked in on the 2nd place rider, the single speed did a sterling effort, dragging me round in 3rd place on the night - and securing 3rd place overall :)

Unexpectedly, I received silverware in the awards afterwards, unfortunately it says "Male Fun" on it, which makes me sound a lot gayer than I actually am.

Rich's consolation prize was winning a Summit base layer in the prize draw

Think Rich and I agree that it is a great race series to do - defo need more E172 representation next year - I know you guys love a bit of Male fun....

6 days until Afan...

...And my chainstays snap clean in two :(

Was out on a ride from Christmas Common this morning (with Mike and Noel), couple of miles in - on a flat bridleway - I am suddenly riding a lowrider!!!

Both chainstays had snapped clean in two. Apart from brake fluid leakage - banjo was pulled loose (all over the pads), and the gear cable getting ripped through the outer, I don't think there's any further damage (fingers crossed).

Skyline, in Glyncorrwg, are loaning me their demo ST4 for next w/e, so at least I can ride. Not sure what I am going to use for the Lotts Wood Race on Wednesday - don't really fancy it on a single speed.

So lucky it went on a flat piece of bridleway, and not at speed etc...
